Dr. Michelle Mills, MD
Dr. Mills grew up in Idaho, the oldest of three kids, and went on to play soccer at the College of Idaho before attending medical school at the University of Utah. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, where she was elected chief resident. She was enticed to move to beautiful Bend for her first job out of training and the rest is history. Dr. Mills is the most humble super-athlete you’ll ever meet and routinely spends her “down” time skinning multiple laps at Bachelor or riding for hours on her mountain bike, not to mention many other outdoor adventures with her husband and two boys. If Dr. Mills hadn’t found her true calling (pediatrics, obviously!), she likes to think she’d be running a baby elephant sanctuary in Africa.
Dr. Kate Broadman, MD
Dr. Broadman knew she wanted to be a pediatrician from a young age, but took a circuitous route to get there, studying comparative literature at Princeton and then spending a year in Germany studying poetry. She returned to her home state of Arizona for medical school at U of A, where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the medical honor society. Dr. Broadman completed her pediatric training at UW/Seattle Children’s, then made one of the best decisions of her life by moving her young family to Bend in 2010 – a town they’d never visited, in a state where they didn’t know a single person. She and her family are die-hard 49ers fans and would like Bend Pediatrics to be a safe space free from discussion of the 2020 and 2024 Super Bowls. When not watching her three daughters shine in their many activities, Dr. Broadman loves to cook fresh pasta and pretend she’s in Italy.
Cassandra Jones, PNP
Cassie grew up playing volleyball in Redding, California, before heading to the beaches of San Diego for college at Point Loma Nazarene University. Between following her husband to bike races and traveling all over the world, she returned to school at Yale University, where she completed her nursing program and went on to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. Though she considers Girona, Spain, her second home, luckily for us she could never quite resist the call of Bend and returned here to raise her family. Cassie’s former-pro-cyclist husband and two active boys never stop challenging her: pray for her as she attempts to learn how to play ice hockey and pop a wheelie (surprisingly difficult!) at her age.
